These classes are in a simulated office environment.
Computerized Business Applications:
A two-semester course designed to prepare students with an
introduction to business applications which are necessary to live and work
in a technological society. Emphasis is given to hardware, concepts and
business uses of applications. The business applications covered are
word processing, database, spreadsheet, graphics, integrated software,
electronic mail, Internet, image processing, PowerPoint, and business etiquette.
Spreadsheet Applications:
A one-semester course in which students use computer
programs to analyze quantitative data. Emphasis is placed on the role and
value of spreadsheets, financial reporting, budgeting, planning, and
forecasting.
Computerized Accounting I:
A two-semester course with emphasis on basic accounting
principles as they relate to both manual and computerized financial
systems. Instruction is on an integrated basis using computers and
calculators as the relationships and processes of manual and
computerized accounting are presented. Entry-level skills in the
accounting occupations can be obtained.
Computerized Accounting II:
A two-semester course designed to provide students with
knowledge, understanding and skill necessary for successful careers in
Accounting. Partnership as well as departmental, corporate, and cost
accounting system are components of the course.
Database Management:
A one-semester course where students learn to organize
data, create, search, and query databases, and use integrated software to
combine database with word processing and mail merge.
FBLA
SEACBEC sponsors a very active chapter of Future Business
Leaders of America. The chapter sponsors projects such as fundraisers for
Arkansas Children's Hospital, Heifer Project International, and an
fundraisers to help fund FBLA events.
FBLA members compete on the
district, state and national level in various competitions in the business
field.
