Medical Professions Education

Students have the opportunity to acquire a CPR license by enrolling in one of three classes: Medical Procedures, or Medical Professions.

Human Behavior focuses on the psychology of human behavior. It is a one semester course. Students will explore the impact that treatment, medicine, and illnesses have on the human psyche while understanding the basic personality types.

Human Anatomy and Physiology is a year course that focuses on anatomy and physiology of body systems and the diseases of those systems.

Medical Procedures is a semester course which helps students learn specific skills needed in the health care profession such as CPR, First Aid, and taking a vital signs. Students have the opportunity to acquire CPR license by enrolling in the medical procedures class.

Medical Procedures- Expanded- is a 1 semester class that teaches students about certain Assistant jobs in the health care field including Lab Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant and Dental Assistant.

Medical Professions is a semester course course designed to provide students with basic information and skills needed for a career in the health care field. Emphasis is given to the development of competencies related to Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). Students will explore 5 different careers and have hands-on experience.

Medical Terminology is a one semester course that assists students in developing the language used for communication in the health care profession.

Participates in volunteer work through different activities during the school year such as Blood Drives, Healthy Kids Day at the YMCA, Alma's Home, and interacting with residents at the nursing home.
