EAST Mission Statement

EAST is dedicated to providing students with the opportunity to develop competencies with the realities of the Twenty-first Century.  This is accomplished through a dynamic operational model of symbolic alliances among education, business, and government that create student-centered K-12 learning environments, resulting in students equipped to be productive, contributing citizens.

The EAST program is designed to enhance the students experience in traditional courses of instruction by providing opportunities for students to be engaged in a project-based approach to problem-solving.  The classroom is a "work-like" learning environment with high expectations, providing students with a better understanding of what will be expected of them in the real world.

A variety of technological equipment is available to students.  One of the many devices that are used is the pocket-sized GPS receiver that includes PC software for sophisticated data processing and GIS data conversion.
