ESL

English as a Second Language.

The Arkansas Adult Education centers provide English language instruction to adults whose primary language is not English.

Students set their future language goals and with the assistance of trained instructors and staff, they begin working toward acquiring the language skills they need to become better employees or to improve their daily lives.

In the introductory stages, instruction focuses on speaking and listening skills.  Later instructions may concentrate on aspects of life as diverse as making change, reading a bus schedule, grocery shopping or developing better interpersonal communication skills.  Classes are conveniently scheduled to accommodate work and family responsibilities.  Each person's needs are different, so the ESL program is flexible enough to make certain everyone reaches his or her unique goals.

ESL classes are available Monday through Thursday 8:00 - 11:45am.

ESL night classes are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 - 8:00pm.
